'Bout Damn Time

And they all say…

If you want it, go and get it

But you’ll never really get it.

And if you think that you can end it,

Then it hasn’t even started yet.

When all the world’s a game

But you’re the only one being played.

Can’t wait for the curtain to fall on this act,

So you can discretely leave the stage

And you’d give anything…

Just to wake up into your dreams

Wrap yourself in denial, or so it would seem.

To be the one they lie next to

To be the love they lie to next

Just to have it back, like you used to

Not to wander aimlessly, utterly perplexed.

End sleepless nights and listless days

Break through the overarching haze

And you don’t want to hear it…

How everyone does it already with ease

How you’re never good enough, and life’s a tease

No more being the punch-line

To a joke that wasn’t funny

No more standing in line

Waiting for a love that isn’t coming

Forget your burned down past

And start looking for something that’ll last

And when it comes…

Well, you’ll probably miss it, I’m just being honest

But don’t worry; they’ll come around again soon

The best things in life

Ought to come to those who’re doomed

And you’ll probably miss it

Because you’re looking too intently

So relax your eyes, beholder

And you’ll see the beauty

And it ought to be now…

That your world changes for the better

That your world changes by your hand

Enough of trying not to let ‘em

Knock you down where you stand

Sift through the crowd of nameless faces

To find the face that ought to know your name

Then embrace them like things will never be the same

Looks like you’re finally doing it, ’bout damn time.

At first I thought this was a Weezer song but then it turned out totally different. It was pretty cool. Nice writins.
