My Walk

I passed through the door

That opens to me

I went out for a walk

Closed my eyes to see

I passed by a man

Who spun his words

In a desperate attempt

To sucker in the herds

I passed over a race

Who’s goal wasn’t clear

Their lust for position

Continued year after year

I passed by a man

Who’s only want

Was the necessities of life

That other men flaunt

And as I walked

Nobody talked

They only sang

A different pain

And as I watched

I had no thoughts

Too loud they sang

Their deafening pain

I passed by a woman

Pay for a night in bed

Smelling white roses

Trying to clear her head

I passed by a place

Where dreams met the sea

Washed off from the faces

That would allow them to be

I passed by a memorial

Of someone who’d passed on

Is there a point to remembering

Something that goes on and on and on?

I passed by the free minded

Trapped like rats in their minds

Study, regurgitate, repeat

They need to open their blinds

And as I walked

A few people talked

But more sang

Their cliché pain

And as I watched

I had one thought

“Don’t let it die”

I’d pray to God

I passed by a party
Where the drinks were free

The only catch

Was a loss of dignity

I passed by a table

But opted not to sit

I’d rather not hear

About legalizing it

I passed by the place

Where love was known

The pain of nostalgia

Reminded me I was alone

I passed through the door

That opens to you

Pray to God it won’t die

Pray you love me too

And as we talked

Nobody knew

That I was falling

In love with you

And as we watched

The night grow old

“I love you too.”

I was told

Lying

Lying on the floor.

Tell me more.

Lying on the bed.

You brushed my hand.

Touched by a hand.

Touched by a soul.

Touched by something.

That I didn’t know.

Sucked into a life.

I could only dream.

Turned to a nightmare.

When things aren’t as they seem.

Soft mint kisses.

Lost in loving eyes.

Infatuation? Love?

Just don’t let it die.

Lying to each other.

Tell me something interesting.

Lying that you’re my muse.

Now doesn’t that sting?

We’re in lust.

Love’s not in mind.

But for my sake.

Would you give it time?

Lie to yourself.

It’s not that bad.

Give it up now.

You’ll miss what you had.

Lie long enough.

And it won’t even matter.

You’ll end up in love.

Isn’t that what you’re after?

Lying alone.

I wish I hadn’t.

Walked in blind.

Thinking I could have it.

Lying on the floor.

It is no more.

Longing’s in the air.

Wishing you were here.

Here's To You

Here’s to the one that got away

Of freewill, didn’t try to make her stay.

Here’s to the user. Can you even comprehend?

Indulge, enlighten, but don’t worry about the end.

Here’s to the rocker, may you die young

Memories of fame, the true story unsung.

Here’s to the realist, never an optimist

Often a pessimist, still rarely ever missed.

Here’s to the dreamer. Can you please stop?
Open your eyes, wake up; you’ll never be on top.

Here’s to the cynic, man you make me sick.

Go find someone to love, yeah that might do the trick.

Here’s to the lover, you should’ve come over.

What’s that? You’re busy? And he’s… Aw shit it’s over.

Here’s to the happy. Can you guys stay away from me?

You bring me down, and you don’t know what I mean.

Here’s to the sad. Would you like a new friend?

I’m here if you’re here, up and until the end.

Here’s to the writer. Did you ever wonder,

How he stayed afloat while you sank under?

Here’s to the reader, I hope you like this

No, please stop, I know…Wait you think it’s shit?

Here’s to everyone who thinks they’re someone

Try to keep believing that, don’t let it come undone.

Finally here’s to you muses, you know who you are

All gone now, not too near, but not too far.

He Said She Said They Said

She said you oughta write it down

He said you might be unwell

She said to think about doing this

And then try not to dwell

She said not to worry

About all of life’s what ifs

He said to have another one

And then forget about that shit

They said that you don’t want it

Then they said that you do

They said don’t listen to us

And do what you want to do

They said you need to think

They said you need to act

They said you need to do this and that

In order to attract

She said I love you

He said what of it

She said you’ll miss me

He said that’s how you love it

He said you couldn’t do it

She said you couldn’t do it

They said you couldn’t do it

Well they all need

To save their quips

For someone who actually gives a shit

He said I’m leaving

She said could we be friends

They said we never saw them lasting

Better now they meet their end

She said this isn’t working

He said because I’m queued

She said nothing for a while

Then said I’m sorry but it’s true

They said you oughta leave

They said you oughta stay

They said you oughta wait it out

And distract yourself during the day

He said you gotta be yourself

She said you gotta see it’s true

They said just wait and be patient

‘Cuz one day it’s gonna happen for you

They said that they’re waiting

They said they’re anticipating

He said he was working on it

But wasn’t sure why it wasn’t happening

He said you wouldn’t do it

She said you wouldn’t do it

They said you wouldn’t do it

Well they all need

To save their quips

For someone who actually gives a shit

She said I’ve caught you now

He said I have nothing to hide

She said I’ll always love you

And then stood there and cried

She said I’m a terrible person

He said that isn’t true

She said I’m downright crazy

He said good thing I am too

He said she looked beautiful

She said he was lying

He said that he was

But you can’t blame a guy for trying

He said I love you

She said she had no reply

He said this isn’t working

While she begged for another try

They said it would come to this

They said you would never last

They said that all your dreams

Are childish delusions of the past

He said you shouldn’t do it

She said you shouldn’t do it

They said you shouldn’t do it

Well they all need

To save their quips

For someone who actually gives a shit

She said I have to tell you

That you truly are amazing

He said it means nothing now

Because I’m sick of waiting

He said that you’ve got to get

Inside their heads and stay

She said you need to give her time

To miss you a little each day

They said you need to get up

They said you need to stay down

They said you need to just play dead

And not listen to what they said

She said don’t fall in love with me

He said I’m afraid it’s too late

She said we should be friends

And in the meantime you can wait

He said I can no longer do this

She said is there anything I can do

He said you’ll never find a guy like me

She said I really hope that isn’t true

He said he couldn’t do it

She said she shouldn’t do it

They said the wouldn’t do it

Well they all need

To save their quips

For someone who actually gives a shit

She said listen, don’t listen to me

I’m only trying to help

She said we need to talk

He said I think we should break up

She said this isn’t over

He said it’s only just beginning

They said you need to cut your losses

‘Cuz neither of you are winning

He said I can still remember her

She said I can still remember him

They said we can still remember them

And it was so much better then

They said it was bound to happen

They said it was unforeseen

They said they said a lot of things

None of which they really mean

He said not to do it

She said she didn’t want to id

They said don’t ever think like that

And with them all, I agree

He said you couldn’t do it

She said you wouldn’t do it

They said you shouldn’t do it

Well they all need

To save their quips

For someone who actually gives a shit

And don’t come looking

For my input

You’ve all said so much already,

You clearly don’t need it
